SUMMER 2026 (SESSION 1) WORKSHOP SIGN-UPS

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! It's time to sign up for your Second Session Summer 2026 Workshops! These sign-ups are open to EVERYONE: students, teachers, and townies. Please read the following before you start signing up:

1) Teacher and Student Class Expectations! The all important guideline for what is expected of the players in Fandom High. Please give it a once-over even if you've seen it in some form or other before - consider it a good thing to click and read while I put up the OCD!

2) Japanese characters, please sign up in the Western style - given name, then family name - to make our alphabetical OCDing easier.

The Important Stuff About Signing Up For Classes

1) Since we've removed the cap on characters, we have also removed the cap on the number of classes your characters can sign up for, but please consider your RL ability to keep up before chucking a character at every class we're offering.

2) If you're a TA for a class, you need to sign up for that class. It will count towards your minimum 2. (Not you, recent grads.) Please note TA-ship in the sign-up for easy of making the class lists accurate. Teachers: please refrain from having your own character act as the TA as it defeats the purpose of having a back-up player to post for you!

3) If it's OOC for your character to take a class but you really want to take it anyway, just sign them up and we'll pretend it was an IG paperwork mishap.

4) If you sign up, please, please try to show up. It lets the mods judge if you're still in the game and it makes the work the teachers are putting into coming up with something fun to interact with so worth it.

5) Class descriptions are subject to change at the teacher's discretion.

6) To be fair to people in all time-zones, sign-ups are not first-come, first-serve.

And now we get to what you really want to see: Summer Workshops! (Session 1)!!!!

FH class sign-ups will close at 11:59pm Eastern on Friday, May 15, 2026, and are IG knowledge at the picnic.

General FYI: Feel free to make changes to your class choices as long as you do it before the deadline. We use the final pings in each thread to make the class lists, not the email notifs. Questions or difficulties, please email us - fandomhighadmins (@) iambicnut.com - or drop a question in the Questions thread down below.

PLEASE HOLD WHILE I OCD.

Trooper Station, Friday

There was a raccoon asleep in one of the cells. No, it hadn't been arrested or charged with anything, it had apparently just wandered in last night and fallen asleep. As you do.

Watts wasn't going to be the one to try to wake it up. It wasn't as if they actually needed the cells for anything, after all.

WTFH - Fandom Radio [Thurs, May 7th]

I'd say I trust we're not having a repeat of last week, Leroy, but I don't actually trust you. Though the intern not looking depressed is a good sign.

*paper shuffling*

Unsurprisingly, nothing happened at the School, but in the Dorms, Sairis was in the Second Floor Common Room, where he was joined by Caleb in being confused by clothing. I don't even need to say anything else there,

Over in Town, Gray's staff were unconcerned at Over Easy, while at the Devil's Nest Octavia was comping the band's drinks, possibly to keep them from playing.

Fandom Island Museum, Thursday Daytime

Spring was in full force, so Steven was making sure the museum's displays pointed out the various things which were seasonal. He also made sure the brochure rack was stocked with pamphlets helping to guide people from one display to the next, should they wish the peace and quiet of doing so on their own.

That done, he made himself comfortable behind the welcome desk and started work drafting things for summer.

He hummed a song to himself while working, since generally speaking he was rather content.

The Magpie Emporium, Thursday (5/7)

Steph stared across the counter at the gremlin clutching a set of miniature dice in both arms and radiating a distinct sense of displeasure.

The gremlin stared right back. Disapprovingly.

"They're basically you-sized," Steph said, eyebrows scrunched up into a shape that ought to be physically impossible out of sheer confusion. "I don't understand why this is an issue."

The gremlin gesticulated frenetically in response, eventually miming out a sequence that looked a lot like a little kid holding a bowling ball in both hands and then heaving it down the lane shot put style.

Steph blinked slowly half a dozen times as she puzzled that one out.

"You... don't think it's as much fun as rolling oversized ones?" She glanced over at the very fancy giant resin d20s stacked up into a little pyramid, each one 1.5 times the size of a softball. "No, you know what, that's completely fair."

The gremlin set the miniature dice set down on the counter and kicked it, then hopped down to the floor and scurried back to its group table.

I should probably be more alarmed that this is a completely normal part of my regular workday, but, eh.

Over Easy, Wednesday

The staff at Over Easy seemed markedly less concerned about how they would get by without their manager for the next few months than the staff at Pizza Planet had been.

Luckily, Gray hadn't been at Pizza Planet to have his feelings hurt by comparison. Also, he slept through half of his shift, as usual. So it was perhaps easy to see why they thought they could get by without him.

Will It Waffle? Wednesday Specials
Cake Batter Waffles
Banana Bread Waffles with Brown Sugar Caramel Syrup
Churro Waffles with Mexican Chocolate Sauce
Sugar Cookie Waffles

Over Easy is open! And going all out for Gray, apparently.

Second floor common room, Wednesday

Sairis was still slowly learning his way around Earth, or at least around this small section of it. Today there was something on the television that he wasn't sure what to think of.

Other than, "People really dress weirdly here."

He'd just be here drinking his tea and eating some cereal, trying to make sense of it all.

The Devil's Nest, Wednesday Evening

The weird band was... there. At the club. Not playing - since Lucifer ushering them off had been efficient enough to stop that from continuing - but just hanging out in a corner booth. Something about a portal delay? Octavia wasn't asking too many questions.

They were drinking for free, though. Because she knew a thing or two about being stranded a long way from home.

(And also didn't give even a single tiny damn about the profits of the Nest.)

Fandom Radio, Wednesday 5/6

Good morning, again. Yesterday was quiet again but that’s no guarantee for today. It never is.

Nothing from the school or the dorms but I have a few notes from the town.

Sairis was at Liliana’s shop because jobs still happen even without classes though he did not want to deal with whatever was inside the box that was moving. Probably wise.

Lucifer accompanied Duke on a fishing excursion and learned how it was that Duke learned to fish.

Later on Lucifer was at The Devil’s Nest discussing possible renovations. Oh dear. Kitty at Caritas was watching Space Battles movies and Tino was slightly confused.

That’s all from yesterday for today. Try to enjoy your Wednesdays.

Infinite Consortium, Tuesday

Sairis was thrown off by the lack of classes, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to show up to his job.

There was a box in the entryway that seemed to have just been delivered, but when he picked it up to bring it in, there was a thump from inside.

He dropped it and backed away as it twitched and thumped. Then he carefully used magic to pick it up and bring it into the back. Whatever it was, it could wait for Liliana; Sairis wasn't opening anything that moved.

He'd just stay up front and clean the nice, still items.

"I'll use the duster on you if you behave," he told the chair.

Fandom Radio, Tuesday, May 5th

...How are you at this rest stop? How did you know I'd be at this rest stop? How did you get all the radio equipment to this rest stop?

*chittering*

Yeah, no matter how many time you insist 'professionalism,' nobody's going to believe you. Anyway, what up, island? It's me, ya girl, Arden Finch, coming at you live from a random rest stop in Louisiana, where the squirrels have successfully tracked me down. It's creepy and I'm not comfortable with this, so I'm just gonna fly through these notes and send them away again, before we're done getting gas and snacks.

No School or Dorms, but a bit of news from Town. There was some kind of Space Battles theme going on, it seems; Magpie Emporium was full of fans and Little Bot had a new weapon, and Steph thought Vi should have one, too. Caleb didn't have an opinion about CGI versus recasting for Space Battles, which, fair, and Ray was giving the workers of Pizza Planet a pep talk about handling things while he and Gray are away for the summer. Space Battles was also being played in the waiting room of the Clinic, but Professor James was busy keeping an eye on the crab.

There was a big get together at Devil's Nest last night, complete with a--you can't get me to say that's a music genre, I don't believe you. Ms. Solo-Fel dropped by for a visit and got caught up on vampire politics. Which probably involved a lot of violence, because vampire politics usually does. After getting a strong whiskey from Mr. Northman, Ms. Beniko and Ms. Solo-Fel talked about how home was always crazy, before chatting with Mr. Jack about his band's tour. Dean Skywalker was lured in by...that genre of music...and talked about one of his other grandchildren with Ms. Solo-Fel before insisting that Mr. Cade was lying and he was not covering drinks. Ms. Beniko somehow missed Dean Skywalker's correction, and Mr. Jack teamed up with Mr. Cade to argue with him about it. Even Cal was there, saying that...that music...had made him homesick, and Ms. Blake just wanted to know if this was going to be a weeklong thing or what.

Anyway, I'm out of notes and also out of time, so enjoy the rest of your day and normally I'd play something thematic, but I'm not having that search term in my algorithm, so ask your closest Jedi about their...music from home, I guess.

Bye!

Caritas- Tuesday

Tino (who still wasn't telling where he'd been and Kitty hated it) looked very confused when Kitty got there before him and put on a Space Battles movie on in the back room.

"What?" she said. "Don't you dare think it's just one day."

He didn't question it further.

The Devil's Nest, Tuesday Night

The Devil had not been at the Nest for far too long. Luckily, that sad, sad time was coming to an end.

Lucifer chased off the jizz musicians with a look as he strode into the bar, and then clapped that same Look onto Tiny. Tiny did not budge.

"What," Lucifer said, "Was that."

Tiny shrugged.

Lucifer let out an annoyed sigh. "You know, I think this place could take a renovation, honestly," he said. "Perhaps a few more tall video screens with images of strippers on them, or something."

The mood could only improve.

Along the Fandom Shoreline, Tuesday Morning

"So," Lucifer said, "Is there any difference between fishing in Chile and fishing here? Are the fish bitier, perhaps? Or more boring? Would you rate Fandom above or below Chile on the boredom scale where it comes to fishing? I have hard time telling the difference, personally."

Yes, Lucifer did still enjoy inviting him along on Duke's fishing trips. And yes, he did still sort of trash talk fishing by proxy while doing it.

But it was a nice morning, and they were having a nice wander along the beach to whatever point Duke had in mind for his next fishing... adventure. And it was nice to be home.

"No, what makes for a good fishing spot?"

He was trying!

The Devil's Nest, Monday Night

There was a live band tonight that Eric had not ordered. Tiny pleaded innocence entirely too quickly for it to be real, either. "What kind of music do they play?" Eric asked, looking confused by the plasticky blue elephant...thing playing a keyboard.

Tiny told him.

"It is not called that."

Tiny grinned.

"Well, that's probably why they were so cheap," Eric said.

Tiny told him how much they cost.

"Well, that's probably why it's coming out of your paycheck," Eric amended.

Welcome to the Devil's Nest. Enjoy the jizz band.

Fandom Clinic, Monday 5/4

There was a Space Battles movie on the TV in the waiting area of the clinic and Stabby had a laser sword. Thankfully it was a toy laser sword or everyone would likely be dead already.

"Morning," Stark said, dropping off some space themed donuts and coffees at the desk as he arrived.

He was expecting a quiet day. But you never knew around here. Anything could happen.

The clinic was open, the crab was swinging a toy laser sword with abandon, and the alien was in.

New Orleans, Monday Afternoon

A fun fact about Erasmus: he owned a car! A car that had been taking up space in his mother's driveway since he went off to college, and even though it wasn't like he needed it on the island, she would like it gone, please. So yesterday he and his friends had portaled to his momma's house, been fussed over appropriately, and spent the night and been fed breakfast this morning before they had promptly headed out.

In the wrong direction, because New Orleans was right there and Erasmus knew his duties as Local Guide. They had like four more days after this to drive back to Maryland. It would be fine.

Now they were standing in the middle of the French Quarter as Erasmus tried really hard not to think about how much he was paying for the privilege of parking his car, and he asked, "Okay, what do we want to do? Bourbon Street is a hellhole." He was just getting that out there first thing.

Furnado Animal Shelter, Monday May 4

"...they may not have had a legal requirement to get the family's permission, but it seems to me they had a moral obligation to do so. Caleb, what do you think?"

The vet tech and one of the volunteers had been going on for some time about the Space Battles franchise which had segued into using CGI to bring back characters who's original actors had passed on rather than re-casting them.

Caleb had not gotten around to Space Battles. It was too big. Likewise Mr. What.

"I'll be honest I'm not sure I understood most'a that. But respectin' the family's wishes seems t'me t'be the right thing t'do."

The kitten he'd befriended, who had managed to get itself adopted by the new momma cat meowed for attention. "I think she agrees."
